 The Kapok pillow , thanks to the homonymous natural fiber used for its filling, can be considered the plant alternative to the down pillow: kapok and down have in fact the same excellent properties .
 Kapok is obtained from the Ceiba Pentandra, a tree widespread in Central and South America, Africa and Asia, belonging to the Bombaceae family.
 The shrub grows spontaneously , therefore it is neither cultivated in monocultures, nor treated, nor fertilized. The fiber is harvested by hand and is extracted from the capsule of the large fruits and does not require treatments or washing .
 Since no pesticides are introduced into the processing of Kapok, we can consider this pillow 100% vegetable and organic, as well as 100% recyclable and therefore also eco-sustainable .
 PADDING
 Let's start by saying first of all that Kapok is a hollow fiber , composed of 80% air, therefore it is incredibly light and soft .
 Like cotton, it is highly breathable and hygroscopic as it is rich in lignin and cellulose: it is therefore able to absorb moisture from the head and gradually transfer it to the surrounding environment, keeping the garment cool and dry in any season .
 Finally, it is completely anti- mite , antibacterial and hypoallergenic : the bitter substances present in the fiber, in fact, keep mites and moths away. The natural layer of wax that covers the fiber, on the other hand, prevents the formation of mold and bacteria , making it ideal for people with allergies.
 COVERING
 The upholstery fabric is 100% Percale cotton , another natural fiber known to further accentuate the breathability and hygroscopicity of the product.
 OTHER INFORMATION
 The cushion is finished on the perimeter with an elegant green "mouse tail" border, and is suitable for those who prefer medium head support .
 The result of a completely Made in Italy craftsmanship , it is an OekoTex certified product, the international certification that ensures the absolute absence of toxic or harmful substances for the body.
 WASHING TIPS
 Thanks to the smooth surface, the Kapok fibers do not felting and do not create lumps. You can wash the pillow in the washing machine using a delicate wash cycle not above 40 ° C.
 You can dry it to 'open, placing it horizontally, or dry, if necessary by inserting a couple of tennis balls in order to inflate the cushion.
 Be careful not to expose the cushion to direct sunlight or intense heat. Check that the filling dries evenly by moving the pillow frequently.
